Could you explain this to me? was this done using PS? or some other program? I have always been interested in game design and im trying to get as much info as possible but googling it is not really giving me ligit info.. Ive been asking a few artist on DA for any tips or hints or just anything to set me in a direction so i can try it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you have the time to help, thank you! Also i love the pony and her movements! shes so adorable!
My programming skills goes no farther than Game Maker and barely enough AS3 to make anything. While I can definitely make stuff quickly with Game Maker and do lots of stuff, I wouldn't call myself a programmer since Game maker is essentially a tool for non-programmers.
The game this is for is going to be a JRPG with tactical elements. As of now we're taking this project much more secretive due to legal concerns.
There seems too much contrast between the character and the environment, but the environment may not be the final product that you want since it is just a WIP. Looks very good otherwise. If you decide to make a game with this, keep the details and progress disclosed so that you don't get a C&D before finishing.
I unfortunately don't yet understand what 'too much contrast' means in this context. It was already much worse when I was still using dark outlines and backgrounds with less vibrant colors, and BonBon doesn't appear to belong in the game.
I know you're not copying the show's colours exactly (and I think the more vibrant look you've gone for will probably work better for a game) but could the path be changed to a paler colour, even if it's not brown?
