It's gonna be a little weird.
They usually don't pay attention to what I do because they think I'm playing games. Ever since I made that April Fools journal entry about be no longer being a hobbyist (which was mostly a half-truth), somehow they heard that I apparently got some job. They have no idea what sort of job I'm doing though, but they don't ask much and they probably assume I got some IT job.
Recently my mom asked me to help out at a yard sale this family seems to run every weekend but since my brother and sister are starting to get out more, we've been less able to hold them. Today, I was the only one besides her who's available to help out, but I had to talk her out of it because "I have a two-thousand dollar project to finish by early September".
My mother is starting to distrust me though, and she wanted to check over to see if I am being truthful. She just recently she looked over at my monitor to see a recent icon commission opened up on graphicsgale. I cannot truthfully say that I'm working on the project but on a side commission. She doesn't know what she's looking at. She's not gonna be able to tell the difference between games and spriting that's actually getting me some pocket change. There's gonna be a time my parents are gonna learn that I've been spending quite a bit of time learning how to do art, and the moment they learn that I do art for money... it's gonna be interesting. Not sure if I wanna look forward to that.
Anyone in a similar situation, or for those who watch me for ponies, have parents who don't know about your interest in ponies?
